Roman shades are often called fabric shades. Also remember that if you do choose a sheer fabric and need it to let in less light this is possible. You can purchase something called a 'darkening liner'. This does exactly what it says. It lines the fabric adding a darkening layer which lets less light to get through. This is very helpful if you absolutely wish to have a sheer fabric but need it in the bedroom!

2. The shade. This might seem obvious, but it's funny how many people install shades and then never utilize them, they always revert back to the artificial light in the room. Like I said, if this is planned, then there is no problem with doing it this way, but you should at least try to open the shades every once in a while, you may surprise yourself at the brightness of the space. Or you may think that it is a fantastic look for a day party or something similar.
